Biography
Eliseo Gonzalez, born in Wilmington, Delaware in 1961, began his journey with art when he entered Creative Vision Factory. Prior to arriving at CVF, Eliseo was experiencing homelessness and struggling with finding a permanent place to live. Visiting CVF and becoming a member enabled him to start creating art. Gonzalez's work began with simple doodles but then blossomed into drawing, painting, and ceramic sculpture with encouragement from CVF staff. He attributes this encouragement as giving him the confidence to make art. Gonzalez draws inspiration from a variety of sources that include whatever he is thinking about or watching on television. The show "In Search Of ," inspired him to draw aliens and to understand them. He cites both this show and aliens as a major source of inspiration for his art. Gonzalez's body of work includes ceramic figures of people and animals (Untitled: Angel), drawings rendered in graphite and colored pencil (Untitled: Red-headed man), and acrylic painting (Untitled: Red lion). His work has been exhibited at Arts Project Australia (Melbourne). Eliseo Gonzalez's artistic practice is located at Creative Vision Factory.
