Biography

Gonzalez’s work primarily focuses on unique depictions of public transportation, earning him the self-proclaimed title, “King of Transit.” His interest in this subject matter stems from having used public transit his whole life. Gonzalez passionately studies buses, commuter trains, their routes, and the city landscapes they reside in. Working mostly with colored pencil, Gonzalez reimagines the city in a vibrant, psychedelic way. He began drawing at the age of 15 and has since taken up photography. His photos often serve as reference points for his carefully drafted drawings. Gonzalez’s artistic practice is currently located at Creative Vision Factory in Wilmington, Delaware. His work has been exhibited at the Outsider Art Fair (New York), Fleisher/Ollman Gallery (Philadelphia), Koelsch Gallery (Houston), Arts Project Australia (Melbourne), Delaware Art Museum (Wilmington), The Delaware Contemporary (Wilmington), and has been reviewed in ArtChangeUs.
