Biography

Robert Charles Lewis is one of the first members of the Creative Vision Factory. He joined in December 2011 and had his first exhibition in March of 2012. Lewis grew up in West Chester, PA, and is a graduate of Garnet Valley High School class of 1973. He was a member of the honor society, chess club, and cross-country team. Lewis’s first experience with art was in the Delaware State Hospital (now Delaware Psychiatric Center) in 1994. He wanted something to occupy his time and found glitter in the activity room there. Although he was only given short amounts of time to work on his art at the hospital, he still found a passion for working with glitter. As soon as he got out he bought glitter, glue, and paper and has been making glitter art ever since. When he found CVF it gave him a place to relax and pursue his art in a joyful environment. Lewis’s religious beliefs are the major source of inspiration for his art. He often uses colors in his art representing the Holy Trinity. His art also includes subjects like wildlife, nature, physics, abstract shapes, and words. His main medium is glitter and glue on paper. He uses different sizes and shapes of glitter to create his pieces. Lewis tends to mostly work on his art in his home and his subject matter now tends more toward the abstract.
